I always hated that bit of non-wisdom, boys will be boys. I used to have a friend who excused her son's atrocious behavior with it. I think our mothers grew up in an era that revered boys more than girls, because my mother was the same way. But luckily, I've got a brother, husband and two sons who are terrific examples of successful men who are generous hearted with a lot of respect for women.
