I agree with you, that's crazy talk. And I hope they can develop a vaccine too. In a book I read called Spillover, the author said effective, lifelong vaccines were much easier to formulate in diseases like smallpox and measles than in diseases that were zoologic, or in other words with an animal resevoir, such as aids and SARS. But flu is a zoologic disease and we at least have a vaccine that's effective for a year. Yet there's never been a vaccine for the common cold, which also comes from coronavirus. So it will be interesting!
