I agree with you.

…stand, our stories will no longer be chosen for “further distribution.” How’s that for an ass-slap? That the upbeat, abbreviated sentence providing us needy writers with a modicum of joy and hope — is being snatched from our sweaty grasps.

I agree with you. They take away everything that provides incentives to continue. They seem totally clueless about the need for incentives and rewards.
