Great read. My husband is on the save it you might need it side; I come down on the spend it while you still have the ability to enjoy it. Hopefully we hit a happy medium. As for leaving an inheritance, that prospect might be coming to an end with prospective tax changes in inheritance, especially the step up part of it. So we do try to give our kids a generous check each year instead of saving all of it for their inheritance.
