Great article, Ryan. Part of the problem is that there are no consequences. The student is going to pass anyway, and the teacher is going to be held accountable if he doesn't go extraordinary lengths to make certain the student has every chance to make up the work. My husband was a teacher, and this was going on before the pandemic, too. They need to work or fail.
