Great article, George! Well-written, thorough and hopeful. I don't mind doomsday articles because I don't agree with them; not so much about things on earth being troublesome. I agree with that, but I believe a glance at history shows us things have always been that way, and people keep trying the same old failed solutions.

Jesus predicted so much in Scripture about the cruelty, chaos and disregard for life that would occur.

But human solutions will never cut it, because we are always hampered by that same old thing-human nature! That's why we haven't progressed as far as putting an end to wars, greed, totalitarianism, etc.

Our only hope is in Him, and that's where I part ways from the doomsayers. They believe if we only try socialism, if we only fix the environment, if we only do this or that, we will stop the precipitous slide toward hopelessness. But men will always slide toward hopeless unless the basic nature is transformed.
