Great article, and so relevant to me right now because I'm trying to decide whether to take a statin. My cholesterol has always been WAY high. About 300. But since I'm thin, eat well and excerise a lot (5 miles or more a day), It's got to be an inherited thing. My mother, who always had cholesterol over 300, lived to be 102.

But my doctor is insisting I get on statins. I'm worried, because my H1C is 5.8, which my doctor says is prediabetes. I don't eat desserts and am 71 years old. So I'm worried Statins will push me over into diabetes. Also, I have very high energy levels and I'm afraid medicine will make me feel fatigued. It's a conundrum. I'm going to blog about it and may reference your article, if that's okay with you.
