Good piece! Since I’m not trying to make a living from my writing, I do it for fun and to share my thoughts and interact with the writing community, so sometimes I’ll publish a lot of stories in a row, but then I’ll slack off and won’t get anything out for a few days. The days I slack off I’m usually traveling, spending time outside or with my family.

You give a good argument for both sides, which shows that it’s an individual thing and what works for some people doesn’t for others. I think the more we write the more our writing improves, so if I were focused on making money or becoming a more successful writer, I would probably want to write and publish every day. But my goals are so scattered (i.e. writing, grandkids, volunteering, activities, etc.) that I end up not publishing as often as the really goal-oriented writers. But it’s all fun!!!
