Enjoyed your essay and would like to make several points. The Baby Boomers brought us the Civil Rights movement and equal rights (supposedly) for women, along with the Americans with disabilities act. Boomers were also sent to fight in the Vietnam War, drafted to fight, and were vilified for it.
There has never been an era, a generation, a time, a century without war. It seems part and parcel of our human nature. My parents, too, were part of the Greatest Generation. We had one car, no air conditioning, weekends ususally consisted of one day, (Sunday), at least to my working parents. I enjoy a much more prosperous world now, as do my children, who are Gen Xers and Millennials.
In every generation, there will be heroes and villains, great strides and grievous shortcomings. This is because every generation consists of the very same thing: humans.
