Emily, thank your for taking so much time to respond to an issue you obviously feel passionate about. You might want to reread the article, though. I don’t maintain that Christians in this country are persecuted today; I merely point out, as the title indicates, that hostility to Christianity is growing.

I believe your response verifies the premise of my article, since you are obviously hostile to Christianity. Too many people lump all Christians into one category without nuances and without allowing for differences of opinion within this group, yet many of the very same people who do this are people who espouse tolerance and viewing people as individuals. I’m not saying you do this. I don’t know anything about you, other than what you’ve written here.

But painting any group with one broad brush, a brush fueled by animosity, is how persecution eventually begins. And for this reason, Christians need to follow Christ’s message of love even more fervently.
