Child care workers should definitely earn more. But I'm sick and tired of our tipping culture, which has gotten out of hand. When I'm in line at an overpriced self-service place, I'm asked to tip. I recently went the the florist for roses, and was asked, despite the exhorbitant cost of flowers, to tip. It's too expensive to get a facial or pedicure because the price is already so high that a tip on top of that makes it prohibitive.
