capitalism, despite its failings, and there are many because of inherent human nature of greed and lust for power, has given more people in the world a better standard of living than ever before in history. The Scandinavian countries, much of Europe, the United States and Canada all have a capitalist system with varying degrees of safety nets. Countries like Cuba, Russia, China, Venezuela and North Korea have tried another way, and both freedom and prosperity has suffered. No system is perfect. There are always adjustments to be made. But redistributing wealth in the manner you discuss, which is pure communism, has never worked. And it never will, because it assumes people are better, more generous, and more nobly motivated than they are.
