Another excellent article. It seems the story of Jesus follows the trajectory of faith you mention in your article. First, he is performing miracles and God seems very close. The disciples are amazed and excited. Then, he is crucified with God apparently ignoring him on the cross and the disciples running away disillusioned. The first part was faith building, the second part faith shattering, but both parts necessary for the ultimate victory.
