A Special Happy New Year to You
Yes, I mean you!
Happy New Year Everyone! I wish you miracles, blessings, love, joy, and your heart’s desires.
I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my stories and allowing me to glimpse your heart and your spirit through the stories you write.
For the first New Year I can remember, I didn’t stay awake until 12:01. Years ago, I went to parties or booked reservations at incredibly crowded and expensive restaurants.
In more recent years, my husband has popped open a bottle of champagne and we’ve watched a ball or apple or peach or something else drop while comfortably ensconced on the couch.
But this year at 10 o’clock my husband said, “Do we have any champagne?”
Me: “I don’t know.”
Him: Would you just as soon drink wine?”
Me: “I’d just as soon go to bed.”
Maybe I didn’t want to stay up because I had my booster shot. It flattened me out, although not as much as the first shot.
Maybe I didn’t want to stay up because I hadn’t slept a wink the night before, and it was with immense relief that I was able to close my eyes and drift off at 10 p.m.
